Mid - Summer Festival 2024

The Plympton St Maurice Mid Summer Festival 2024, is happening from June 14th to 16th in the beautiful village of Plympton St Maurice in Plymouth, England. This festival is a tradition that goes back centuries, and it's a great way to celebrate the community and the rich history of this place.

The festival kicks off on Friday night with a concert by the Sir Joshua Reynolds choir at the Guildhall, which is a stunning building that dates back to the 15th century. Tickets prices £7 on the door and refreshments are available.

On Saturday, the main event is the Lamb Feast, which is held on the Castle Green, where you can see the ruins of a Norman castle that was built in the 11th century. The Lamb Feast is a feast for all your senses, as you can enjoy delicious lamb rolls and sausages from local butchers, listen to live music from choirs, watch demonstrations of judo, dancing, browse stalls selling crafts, cakes and plants, and have fun with games, slides and face painting for kids. The Lamb Feast is free to enter and runs from noon onwards.

On Sunday, you can explore a range hidden gardens that are open to the public for one day only. These gardens are of all shapes and sizes, and each one has its own charm and character. You can admire the flowers, vegetables and sculptures, chat with the friendly owners and treasure hunt for the kids. Tickets are £5 for adults and free for children and are available from the Guildhall and the end of George Lane and Dark Street Lane. You can also enjoy refreshments at the church hall.
